April 4, 2007, Pan-am & Wrestlefest results
Toronto BJJ competition team wins Wrestlefest and brings home medals from Pan-Ams
We did it!!! We suceeded in winning locally and internationally. Locally, we took home the Brazilain Jiu-Jitsu team title at Wrestlefest. This was the second leg of the Ontario Grand Prix. The individual results are still pouring in. We will post them as soon as we have them. Once again many of the outstanding performances came from guys who had not medalled previously. We continue to win with our team as a family approach. Our success stems not just from those who compete on tournament day, but everyone who comes to class to train. On the international side we did somehting unprecedented in the history of the BJJ in Toronto. We took home two medals from the Pan-American games, the world's second most prestigious tournament. Once again we are proud of everyone who trains here, as these results are shared by all.
January 27, 2007, Ascension Open
Toronto BJJ continues to blaze a trail of tournament Success. This past Saturday at the Ascension Open the first leg of the Ontario Grand Prix, a tough group of Toronto BJJ members made it out to Scarborough to compete. We won a ton of matches, over two thirds of which were by submission. Following on the heels of our impressive
performance at the Joslins Canadian Open, we took home 5 Gold, 7 Silver, and 6 Bronze medals. What makes this even more impressive, is that only 3 of our medalists today, were repeat medalists from Joslins. This is further proof that our positive training environment, and team as a family philosophy breeds great results. Our team is not made up of a few stars, but instead tremendous depth,
camaraderie, and effort. A special thanks not only to everyone who competed, but to all of the Toronto BJJ members, friends and family who came to cheer everyone on. We train as a team and a family, and the results are shared by all!
