Toronto BJJ 9 straight W's in MMA
With two competitors competing in Edmonton Alberta. We continued our streak of consecutive victories in Mixed Martial Arts to 9 straight. Both matches were in the 155 pound division. In the first match our competitor did everything to his opponent in the 1st round but get the finish, that would come early in the 2nd round via TKO. Our second competitor was fighting for the championship belt. He knocked out his opponent with a high kick 20 seconds into the bout to claim the title. As one on looker noted. We had a wrestler dominate with BJJ and a Brazilan Jiu-Jitsu specialist win with Muay Thai. Great things happen when you combine the best the city has to offer in BJJ, Wrestling, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Boxing, Strength and Conditioning, and MMA. Thanks go out to everyone who trains here, we are a team and a family, the results are shared by all.
Toronto BJJ team champions again!
At this past Bravado BJJ tournament Toronto BJJ conitnued its dominance of the local grappling scene with yet another team title. Showing our depth, we were able to get more than half of our competitors to place, even though for most this was their first tournament. It is great to see once again that everyone who trains here enjoys great success. We train as a team and a family, the results are shared by all.
K-1 Star Dida teaching Muay Thai
Fresh off a TKO victory in K-1 Max, Andre Dida brings his world class Muay Thai kick-boxing knowledge to Toronto BJJ. Dida is also a top MMA fighter having reached the finals of K-1 Heroes in MMA. Dida has trained extensively with many of todays top stars including UFC Champion Anderson Silva, Shogun, and Wanderlei Silva.
UFC star training with us
In additon to a members only seminar, current UFC star Mauricio "Shogun" Rua has been training at Toronto BJJ this month. His next bout is rumored to be against former UFC Champion Quinton Jackson. Shogun had previously knocked out Jackson when they fought in Japan.
Success @ NAGA tournament
On August 2nd we participated in NAGA's Battle by the Beach. With nearly 2000 competitors the NAGA events rival Grapplers Quest in terms of size. Toronto BJJ entered 3 competitors this long weekend, turning up a Gold and Bronze medal in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu divisions. This included our Purple Belt defeating a Black Belt in the final.
Grapplers Quest Copa Atlantica
In one of North America's largest tournaments we entered 6 competitors and took home 3 silver and 2 bronze medals. Showing the great success that all Toronto BJJ students enjoy, we medalled accross the spectrum, with our
women, men, and teens all reaching the podium. We medalled at white belt, blue belt, and purple belt.

Toronto BJJ wins again in MMA
This Friday June 20th at KOTC in Montreal, Toronto BJJ enjoyed its seventh straight mixed martial arts victory, with a 2nd round tko in the 155 pound division.
Xande #1 in the World
Congratulations are in order for one of our teachers, who won the greatest prize in competitve Jiu-Jitsu when he won the Absolute division of this year's World Championship of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Toronto BJJ & Saulo Ribeiro Family
Our commitment to being the best we can be has been shown once again. Toronto BJJ has joined Saulo Ribeiro in his association. Saulo, a 6x black belt world champion in his own right, is legendary as a teacher of many world champions. In addition to regular visits by Saulo, his brother Xande, a multiple time black belt world champion, will be coming to teach on a regular basis as well.
